Enjoying the Pony Rides!!

Today was the official end of the school year picnic for Kenden's preschool at London Bridge Baptist. They really went all out for the kids, as you can see by the pictures! Pony rides, bounce houses, cotton candy, hot dogs....so much fun! The children did not have class today (their last day was Wednesday the 27th), so it was just a day to celebrate the end of another successful school year. Kenden will attend LBBP next year as well, and we are really looking forward to it! But for now, bring on the summer activities!!

Happy 9th Anniversary Amber & Jeff!!

So hard to believe that it has been 9 years since our wedding day! Time has flown by...and what a wonderful ride it has been so far! So much has happened, both good and bad, but I am so glad Jeff and I have each other through all of it. We are both looking forward to many, many more years to come!

Summer's A-Comin'....

Since the unofficial start of summer was this past Monday (Memorial Day), I thought I'd "summer-ize" the blog with a cool Surf Board background!! YAY for summer!

Green Flip Flops and Monkey Undies!

The title of this entry sorta says it all! Kenden was dirty when he came in from playing outside, so he decided to run all over the house in his monkey drawers! He decided that the outfit wasn't complete without his green Old Navy flip flops! Quite the fashion statement!

Memorial Day...

Jeff and the bird feeder!

Kenden with Da-da, feeding the koi fish!

I can't start this post without first recognizing the men and women who put their lives on the line for our freedoms and for our country. May God continue to bless you all and your families, and a million times over, thank you, thank you for all you do.

We spent the vast majority of our Memorial Day weekend at home, doing things that have needed to be done for ages! It was beautiful weather, so some projects were tackled! Jeff stained the entire porch, hung a new porch door, and put his bird feeder up on a post in the backyard (I am embarrassed to say that that feeder was a bday gift to him several birthdays ago, and we just got around to putting it up! Better late than never, I guess!). I was put in charge of sanding all our patio furniture, then the 2 of us stained everything. Whew...I am tired just thinking about it! Everything looks so good though...

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Kenden Meets his New Cousin Chase for the First Time!

Since we didn't get together as a family on Mother's Day and Kenden hadn't met his new cousin Chase, we all got to see each other the following Saturday. Carrie had a baby shower to attend in Va. Beach, and since my parents were in town as well, we made the most of it and they came over to see us! We had a fantastic time together and Kenden was so great with Chase...very gentle and just looked at him....he really is getting so big so fast!

Chase comes to visit us for the very first time!

He looks so much like my brother in this picture!

"I'm not getting anything out of these fingers!"

Carrie trying to get the hang of the "Hooter Hider"!

Mother's Day 2009

The Mother's Day roses I received from my mom and dad

The beautiful bouquet that I got from my sweetie husband

The precious handprint pot and plant from my adorable son that he made at school

Opening my gifts on Mother's Day morning

What a great Mother's Day (and weekend) I had!! Jeff and Kenden were so wonderful to me, and made it special in every way. I received some beautiful roses from my parents, and Jeff gave me a gorgeous mixed bouquet as well! On Saturday, I went and got a pedicure and my nails filled, then went and tanned and ran some errands (all "Kenden-Free")....little did I know that Da-da had taken Kenden to do some special shopping while I was out! That evening, Jeff took Kenden and I to get dinner at Kenden's favorite restaurant, Lucky Oyster!

On Sunday, we went to the gym, but before we did that, Kenden and Jeff presented me with my card and gifts...I felt so special. Jeff bought Kenden this adorable card that records a message, so when I opened it, there was my little guy saying, "Happy Mother's Day Mom!!" Priceless. The first gift I opened was from Kenden as well....a beautiful teal glass bead bracelet that he picked out all by himself. He was so very proud. I put it on right away (and had to wear it to the gym that day, too!). Jeff also gave me a bracelet....the David Yurman one that fell off my wrist a little over a year ago while we were out to dinner. I was treated so great by my 2 guys!

Just want to send out a special "Happy Mother's Day" and "I love you" to the wonderful moms in my life...my own mom, my Gran, Jeff's mom...and to my sister in law Carrie on her first Mother's Day with Chase!
