Kenden's 2nd Birthday Party at My Gym!

Kenden's party was this past Saturday at My Gym, which is the kiddie gym we go to once or twice a week. We had a great time. Kenden decided that it would not be a good day to nap. Instead, he laid in his bed for 2 hours, talking to himself, and when I went in to get him, he said, "Time for KeeKan birday party!" He was ready to go!

Opening gifts at the house with family after the party. Kenden got so many cool things! This is the ride on loader from Mommy and Daddy. He also got a tricycle from Grammie and Papa, as well as his own car from Nanny!



I just LOVE my new, red car Nanny! Thanks so much...Mommy and Daddy have been letting me drive it all over the house, so I am a pretty good navigator already! Mommy's walls are in great shape! I have been really careful!

Happy 16th Birthday Cousin Michael!!

Just wanted to take a little time out and wish our oldest nephew, Kenden's oldest boy cousin, Michael, a very happy 16th birthday today! Have a great day Michael....it was great seeing you this past weekend at Kenden's party!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Kenden!

Yesterday was Kenden's actual 2nd birthday, but I am just getting around to posting the pics I took of him yesterday. We had such a nice day! We met daddy at Panera for lunch, where Kenden had a birthday chocolate chip cookie (he is not a cake fan)! After his nap, we opened some presents! Kenden got one of his presents from mommy and daddy: a set of small John Deere tractors and a tow truck that is a flashlight! Kaz and Lulu (his doggie brother and sister) gave him some Bob the Builder trucks and 2 Bob the Builder videos. Cousins Michelle, TD, Camden and Zachary gave him a LIttle Bear DVD (thanks guys!) and Aunt Dale and Uncle Ricky gave him a Bible Songs Cassette tape, which will be great to listen to while we take baths at night! And Sarah Harmon, Kenden's little buddy in South Carolina gave him a cute football outfit! He had a great time opening his gifts and playing with the gift bags. He will get his other presents tomorrow at his party!




After gifts, we had dinner and then vanilla ice cream and more chocolate chip cookies as a birthday treat! What a great day! We had so much fun celebrating as a family!



Kenden also got to talk to his Grammie on the phone! He had a great time chatting with her about having his party at My Gym and driving Papa's truck!

Looking Back...

Hard to believe that 2 years ago today, at this time I was sitting in a hospital room, holding a new baby...a son. Jeff and I were convinced through the whole pregnancy that we were having a girl, as we didn't know what we were having and EVERYONE around us who was pregnant seemed to be having boys! We were convinced "he" was a "she"...however, after 12 hours of labor, and a csection, Kenden Blake Turner was born at 8:07 a.m. on Tuedsay, October 25th. He was 5 pounds, 15 ounces, and 20 inches long. And I felt like he looked just like his father!

My emotions are so mixed on this day....sadness that my "baby" is growing up and that my father in law isn't here to see what a great kid he is, and what a fantastic father his own son is to his grandson; joy...nothing makes me happier than that kid, and every day with him is part of a fantastic journey! We've been so blessed with Kenden in our lives, from day one. Happy 2nd Birthday Kenden! Daddy and I love you more than you will ever know!

Happy 19th Birthday Cousin Kristen!

Just wanted to take a quick minute to wish Kristen, Kenden's oldest cousin and Jeff's brother's daughter, a very Happy 19th Birthday today!! Hard to believe that 2 years ago today, Kristen was wishing REALLY hard that I would go into labor and have Kenden on her bday! haha! I almost did, too....missed it by a very small 8 hours....and had Kenden the next day, the 25th! Have a great birthday Kristen and we'll see you this weekend at Kenden's party!! Love ya!

"No LOVE on Mommy!"

I have 2 men that love my undivided attention!! haha! This morning, Kenden and I were the first ones up, so we were in the den playing with his matchbox cars. This went on for awhile, then Jeff came into the den and sat down beside me on the couch. We talked for a minute while Kenden entertained himself. Jeff hadn't slept well the night before and leaned over on me trying to get some love and sympathy. Well, Kenden turned around and saw him "cozying" up to me, and announced, "NO DADA!! NO love on MOMMY!" He said this SEVERAL times, and to make his point perfectly clear, he came over and joined the hug-huddle, saying, "Up mommy, up!", meaning he wanted me to pick him up and hold him. At least I know both of the men in my life love me! hahaha! So funny how that possessiveness comes out. I bet Kenden won't feel like that when he is a teenager! And I will be wishing he would come over and want me to love on him....
